Our goal is to win the November 2026 midterm elections. The convention is one step towards that goal.
Delegate Meetings: Conducting the Business of the Harris County Democratic Party
The business of the Harris County Democratic Party is conducted in the morning by convention delegates. The delegates get together in meetings based on each of the nine U.S. Congressional Districts in Harris County. In these meetings they elect delegates to the state convention and vote on proposed rules and resolutions.
There are also meetings of the individual Rules and Resolutions Committees, who work to unify the proposals generated by each Congressional District.

BUT there is much more going on than policy issues. This convention is designed to attract and engage a much wider audience. We have breakout sessions and workshops. We have a big rally. And we have a social event at the end of the day to mix, mingle, be entertained and more.

While the delegates are meeting, and during the afternoon, we have breakout sessions and workshops to inform and entertain you. Topics such as How to Become a Precinct Chair, Best Practices of Precinct Chairs, How to Stay Calm During Trying Times, How to Be an Organizer. and much much more.

Get Involved and Make a Difference
Our trade-show style booths are designed for you to meet face-to-face with candidates, elected officials, clubs, organizations, and congressional district leaders. This is an opportunity to volunteer, to get involved, and to lay the groundwork for making a difference in the November 2026 midterm elections.
Celebrate our unity
The Mix and Mingle portion of our program is designed to celebrate our unity as Democrats and what we have in common. We will have food, drinks, entertainment, socializing and more, to wrap up the day and to get us ready to work together to win the midterms!
